questions

I'd be interested in knowing one thing that you've learned about God in your devotions recently.

I've been meditating on his faithfulness to me even when I'm weak and shortcoming. He always is there, and gives me hope.

  1. I have been reading CJ Mahaney's book on humility. It is amazing and has helped me to realize that I am an extremely prideful person.
I highly suggest reading this book if you have not already.

  2. hmmmm....maybe this is a perfect time to ask for prayer? ;) I've been having a hard time with my quiet times lately...not the consistency of actually having them, but not feeling met when I do. One of the songs we sang at church the other day was talking about how God answers us when we call...and although I don't doubt that, I haven't really been experiencing it lately. it kinda just seems like every morning I sit down and ask God to meet me, and every morning I walk away without feeling like I really spent any time with God. Anyways, I'm going to keep at it and keep praying that God would meet me, I'd really appreciate it if any of you guys think to pray for me :)

  3. Well, lately I have been focusing on humility especially in regards to my parents, and one verse that has really spoken to me is Proverbs 26:12 "Do you see a man who is wise in his own eyes? There is more hope for a fool than for him."
That verse has really helped me to realize how bad pride really is. I often think I know more than my parents... (not a good attitude... they almost always know more!)
Anyways, God has been faithful to help me grow in this area... it's a slow and steady battle that I need to fight, but he is good.

  4. I've also been reading the book humility, it's shown me areas of pride in my life, and encouraged me to fight those areas.
